Veterans Day brought heavy rainstorms to Polk County. Tryon recorded 3.77 inches of rain on Tuesday and 0.99 inches on Wednesday. The rain was accompanied by high winds and downed trees, which caused power outages. Power was out in the Saluda area to an estimated 2,000 customers for about an hour Wednesday.
