Local writers speak at Lanier Library

The Lanier Library will host a panel of eight local writers who will briefly discuss their latest publications at the Librarys Brown Bag Lunch program on Tuesday, November 17 at noon. The program is free and everyone is welcome.
The writers who will be taking part in the program are: Roger and Pat Bares of Saluda, who are the authors of “Beyond the Sea;” Jeri F. Board of Tryon, author of “The Bed She Was Born In;” Anna Pack Conner of Lynn, author of “Tryon: An Artists and Writers Sketchbook;” Polly Kent of Saluda, author of “A Coat for a Soldier” & “Earths Only Paradise;” Bill Russell of Saluda, author of “In Times Gone By;” Mark Schweitzer of Tryon, author of “Liturgical Mystery Series;” and Claire Wharton of Tryon, author of “Pearl Maker.”
Additional local writers are invited to attend and tables will be set up for them to display and discuss their books following the formal presentation.
This program is designed to show how our local areas long and distinguished literary tradition continues to flourish.
It is the first part of the two-part program, “Writing in the Foothills,” which is being sponsored by Lanier Library in conjunction with the Tryon Fine Arts Center.
The program at TFAC (on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.) will give new or prospective writers an opportunity to learn from three experienced professionals about writing and publishing in todays market.
