Kudos to Coachhouse

To the Editor:

The American Legion Auxiliary is always involved in good deeds and community affairs, but a recent event produced an exciting reward.

The men and women of the American Legion were asked to host a dinner for the Army Navy band who played at Polk County High School this summer. A last minute request went out to the auxiliary to provide the food, but there was no way we could pull it together in three days.

So we asked one of our auxiliary members who owns the Coachhouse in Landrum to cater this important event. She agred and came through with a meal that was raved about by all the members of the band.

In fact, they said it was the best they had on their entire trip throughout the states playing at various locations.

The most exciting part was that Vice President Joe Biden called the chair people of this event, Wendy Donavan and her husband to thank them and remarked about the wonderful food. Kudos to Kathy and Graeme Watson of Coachhouse, Landrum for pulling off this grand affair in three days.
