Polk County High School seniors Evan Fitch and Tiffany Blackburn have been named Commended Students in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Principal Greene presented each student with an official Letter of Commendation and certificate in honor of the accomplishment.

“On behalf of Polk County High School, we are very proud of these students for their accomplishment,” says Principal Greene.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
Although they will not continue in the 2010 competition for National Merit Scholarships, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more that 1.5 million students in the U.S. who entered the 2010 competition by taking the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
