WCCR holiday program, WOTJ Fall Jazz Series

Published 4:23 pm Monday, November 9, 2009

The Western Carolina Classic Radio Club will meet on Monday, November 16 at 2 p.m. in Studio 118 on the ICC Polk campus.
The old time radio segment will be an Abbott & Costello Thanksgiving Show which first aired on November 25, 1946. Professor Hoyt will have a trivia quiz at the intermission.
The TV segment will be the annual Christmas program as aired last year. Note that there is a cast call of 12:30 p.m. on the same day as the meeting.
Due to the live Christmas Carol radio show, there will not be a December meeting.
After the WCCR program, around 3:10 p.m., the Fall Jazz Series will continue on WOTJ (Wonderful Olde Tyme Jazz) in Studio 118 on the ICC Polk campus.
The program will feature Bix Beiderbecke, the great romatic legend of American jazz and one of the great jazz musicians of the 1920s.
Come and hear recordings from the original vinyl records made in 1927 and 1928. As always, everyone is welcome. The programs are free. There are no dues or by-laws or constitution and there will never be an election of officers.
