Tryon residents David and Robin Edgars book, Fantastic Recycled Plastic, has just been released and you can meet the authors at a book signing and art show on Sunday, November 15 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Kathleens Gallery in Tryon.
The book features the creations of artist David Edgar who uses laundry bottles, yogurt containers and other recyclables to create fantastical creatures from the Plastiquarium.
This book is filled with projects for all ages, giving directions and patterns for making everything from jewelry to masks, from lamps to mobiles and more.
The full color volume also includes a gallery of other artists famous for their use of recycled materials. Two of these artists, John Richards and Vickie Jo Franks also show their work at Kathleens Gallery.
Kathleens Gallery is located at 66 Ola Mae Way in downtown Tryon, on the hill with Saluda Forge. Normal business hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
