American Brass Quintet to conduct masterclass for local musicians

(photo submitted)On Saturday afternoon, October 31 at 3 p.m. The American Brass Quintet will conduct a masterclass for students and audience, giving technical and musical advice to young musicians. This class will be presented at the Tryon Fine Arts Center, 34 Melrose Avenue, Tryon, NC. Admission is free to all.

The American Brass Quintet is internationally recognized for its focused training in chamber music. They presently teach at the Juilliard School and at the Aspen Music Festival, encouraging young artists in the field of brass music. They offer instruction in chamber music performance to young groups and individuals, including the advanced to the young player. The group demonstrates basic skills of ensemble playing with musical examples from a wide range of repertoire. Topics covered include balance, intonation, style and group interaction.

Hailed by Newsweek as &dquo;The high priests of brass,&dquo; the American Brass Quintet will give students from the Tryon area valuable coaching in their musical field, just as they have to countless groups across the nation and abroad.
