Meet the Artist at The Wine Cellar presents “Never a Dull Moment: Colorist and a Maker of ‘Stuff.'” Local artists, Michael McCarthy and Jeff Jenkins will be exhibiting at The Wine Cellars Meet the Artist series this Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. The artists will be on hand Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Michael McCarthy began painting at an early age. Although he received encouragement from his teachers, it was his Grandfather, a plein air painter who helped him make the decision to pursue his passion of art.
Jeff Jenkins, from Columbus, has lived in the area for the past seven years since moving here from Charleston SC. He has made stuff his whole life and even won a few awards. He uses the word stuff to be inclusive of lots of mediums. Whatever is around he will use. Not one to spend much time doing one thing, he has produced paintings, drawings, woodwork, photography, printmaking and other stuff.
