Tuesday School of Tryon and The Book Shelf of Tryon are joining forces to present “Tuesday School Book Week” starting October 31, 2009 at The Book Shelf.
The event will offer an opportunity for customers to donate money to a worthy cause simply by buying a book. The event begins on October 31 with a reading of scary Halloween stories and continues until November 7.
The Book Shelf will make a donation to Tuesday School for every purchase made by those patrons simply mentioning the school. In addition, those purchasing patrons will be entered to win a $30 gift certificate. All proceeds benefit non-profit preschool Tuesday School.
As a 501(c)(3) parent-cooperative preschool, Tuesday School relies on the generosity of its community and the commitment of its parent volunteer force to educate preschoolers in Polk County and Upstate SC. “We are proud that this fundraiser involves the community through participation from local neighbors, as well as, benefits both Tuesday School and The Book Shelf.” says Tuesday School co-chair, Yvonne Bebber. “Our teachers are going to be available to wrap gifts in order to help make your Christmas purchases even easier.” The event is open to the public.
Some of the activities for the week include:
October 31 – spooky Halloween readings for the kids with tricks and treats.
November 1 – special Sunday hours from 1pm-4pm available for all purchases.
November 2-7 – Tuesday School week – all purchases made through the end of the week will provide a portion of the proceeds to the school.
Through the entire week, entries will be taken for the $30 gift card for purchasing patrons mentioning Tuesday School.
