Polk Central Elementary School will celebrate science and discovery with a Science Discovery Day on November 5, from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature the Explorer Dome, Pacolet Area Conservancy, Polk Soil and Water Conservation Dept, Mrs. Frizzle – science teacher star of Scholastic’s award-winning Magic School Bus series, a local beekeeper, Wildlife Officer Toby Jenkins, and much more.
Polk Central Elementary is a model school of science and strives to integrate scientific learning into all areas of the curriculum in order to better prepare its students for the 21st Century. The school also focuses on strong community ties in order to make students’ learning real-world relevant and hands-on.
