On Saturday, October 24, the Landrum High School Cardinal Pride Marching Band competed in the SC Marching Band Upper State Championship competition held in Clinton, SC.
The band captured fifth place, defeating five other bands, qualifying them for the SC Class 1A State Marching Band Championship competition to be held Saturday evening, October 31, at Woodmont High School in Piedmont, SC.
Two years ago, the Cardinal Pride placed fifth in the state in Class 1A with their program of music from the band Journey. This years theme is That 70s Show, which includes a van made by the Band Booster Club, from which the band comes marching out of at the beginning of the show.
The Landrum Cardinal Pride is directed by Dr. Barry Bridwell, with assistance from Natasha Mills and Color Guard Director Michele Emory. Come watch the Cardinal Pride perform this Saturday, and show your support for the band program. For more information, call 864-457-4092.
