The Annual Fall Rally sponsored by the Polk County Democratic Party is set to take place Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Harmon Field cabin.

Festivities will start at 4:30 p.m. and food will be served from 5 to 7 p.m.

This event is a Democratic Party tradition that goes back as far as anyone can remember and is open to everyone.

The grills will be fired up for free hotdogs and hamburgers.&bsp; Drinks and desserts will also be served.

A homemade cake auction will be held as well. Music provided by Phil and Gaye Johnson will round out the festivities.

This year, for the first time, a chili cook-off between local Democratic officials will be held. &bsp;

Rally guests may vote for the best chili by donating money that will go toward preparing the building for the new Polk Adult Day/Health Care Center.

Since this year&squo;s rally will kick off the 2010 election cycle for local Democrats, some important local campaign announcements will be made at the event, say organizers.

Rally goers will have the opportunity to talk to other Democratic officials and potential candidates as well. &bsp;
