Benefit in Sunny View Saturday for Shriner’s Hospital for Children

A benefit will be held Saturday in Sunny View for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Greenville, S.C., which has helped children from across the region, including Polk County.

The benefit will be held at McGuinn&squo;s Store on Hwy. 9 North from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Live music will begin at 9:30 a.m. and singers will include The Swanson&squo;s, Kyle Baber, Lamberts, Followers of Christ and The Old Tyme Pickers.

Activities will include a dunking booth with Polk County Sheriff&squo;s Office employees as volunteers and Sheriff Donald Hill. Also, there will be an inflatable ride and a trackless train ride for the children from noon until 6 p.m.

Raffle tickets will be sold, giving everyone chances to win lots of prizes.

Barbecue will be sold as sandwiches, plates and by the pound. Also for sale will be whole Boston butts, hot dogs and snow cones.

Event organizers invite everyone to come out and support the local Shriners Hospital for Children.
