Foster Creek one step closer in Columbus

The planning board last week addressed concerns with the development such as road widths, emergency vehicle access, water sources and an existing right of way.

Foster Creek representatives Alan Peterson and Robert Baysden attended the meeting to answer questions and said the master plan is a conceptual plan and many of the specific details will be addressed during the preliminary plan stage of the process.

After this Thursday&squo;s joint meeting, council will have 60 days to approve, approve with modifications or deny the master plan. Foster Creek will be required to go through the same process of getting approvals for each individual phase of the preliminary plats. Once the preliminary plats have been approved, Foster Creek will get final plat approval and construction can begin.

Foster Creek is a proposed high end development off Houston Road. The 1,068-acre property was voluntarily annexed into city limits at the end of 2007. The development is proposing approximately 700 lots.

Developers have said the earliest any construction could begin would be the summer, of 2010.
