Stephen Chick

Born in Huntington, W.V., he was the son of the late Stephen C. and Blanche Hefner Chick.&bsp; He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army Ranger 5th Division and landed on Omaha Beach on D Day. Mr. Chick received a Purple Heart and shared his story, which can be seen on www.witnesstowar.org. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University. Mr. Chick worked for many years in the aerospace industry in Buffalo, N.Y., and later was proprietor of Associated Products Building Supply Company in San Diego, Calif. He retired to Columbus in 2002, coming from Fallbrook, Calif., and volunteered with the Special Olympics. Mr. Chick was a member of Maple Grove Church, Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Chick is survived by; two daughters, Deborah Vogel of Valley Forge, Penn., and Lori Chick of Columbus; one son, Gregory Chick of Murrieta, Calif. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
