Three file for open seats in Landrum city election

Two incumbents and one newcomer have filed to run for Landrum City Council in this year&squo;s municipal election.

Incumbent Mayor Bob Briggs and incumbent councilman Don Smith have filed for the election. Newcomer Chris Armstrong has also filed to run for a council seat.

Landrum currently has five positions open: the mayor seat as well as the council seats of Smith, Jan Horton and Billy Inman. Horton and Inman had not filed as of press time yesterday.

The deadline to file is tomorrow at 1 p.m. The election is scheduled for Nov. 3.
