Public invited to Polk’s first football practice Friday at midnight

Published 9:54 am Friday, August 7, 2009

The free event was suggested as a way to build excitement for the upcoming year.

&dquo;Our coaches said &squo;Hey, let&squo;s shake it up a bit and do something different,&squo;&dquo; said head coach Bruce Ollis. &dquo;There will be a special teams practice around 8 p.m., we&squo;ll bring them back in, rehydrate, and feed them a little bit. Then we&squo;re gonna be back out there at 12:01 and start cracking heads.

&dquo;That will be fun. The good thing about that is they&squo;ll get the rest of Saturday and Sunday off and then we&squo;ll get into our scrimmage schedule.&dquo;
