Mary Lockhart

Mrs. Lockhart was born on September 11, 1923 in Greenville County, S.C. She was a former resident of Asheville, N.C., for 25 years and was employed with the Buncombe County Head Start Program. She had also managed numerous hotels and motels throughout the southeast and retired in Landrum. Mrs. Lockhart had made her home in Haywood County for the past several months. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Lockhart was blessed with a loving and outgoing personality and everyone who met her loved her. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly, her family and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Lockhart; her son, Theodore Landrum Lockhart Jr.; a granddaughter, Teresa Swann; brothers, William Durham ,Jethro Durham, Mack Durham, Arnold Blackwell, Dickie Blackwell and Keith Blackwell and her former husband, Ted L. Lockhart Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Duckett, and her husband, Clyde Duckett of Clyde, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Lockhart of Asheville, N.C.; sisters, Gertrude Brown of Lake Hartwell and Margaret Wilder of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, John Blackwell Jr.of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandsons, Jeff Duckett of Asheville, N.C., and Mike Duckett of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Private services for Mrs. Lockhart will be held at a later date. Crawford/Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Canton, N.C., was honored to care for the Lockhart family.
