Stuart Goldstein applied for a permit to operate a dog kennel and grooming salon at 171 Sassy Lane in Green Creek, which is in the county&squo;s multiple use (MU) zoning district.&bsp; The business had previously been in operation in a 3,000-square-foot facility on the 1.01-acre property.

Goldstein was scheduled to have a hearing on Aug. 11 with the Polk County Zoning Board of Adjustment.

Ruth sent notice this week that after consulting with an attorney, she has determined that Goldstein&squo;s existing permit applies to the use at the property, even though the use was discontinued for more than a year.

The issue has been resolved, Ruth said, and the application to the board of adjustment has been withdrawn.
