A Green Creek firefighter reported that the owners had recently moved into the house, which is now &dquo;a total loss.&dquo;

The roof was completely burned away on one side of the house. Parts of the metal roof were twisted on the ground. A back deck appeared to be completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire was unknown but under investigation, according to the Green Creek Fire Department.

No injuries were reported, although one firefighter was transported as a precautionary measure to St. Luke&squo;s Hospital because of high blood pressure.

The Green Creek Fire Department received assistance from the Mill Spring and Columbus fire departments, along with a fire department from Rutherford County.

The Polk County Rescue Squad and the Polk County Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted the firefighters who worked to keep the fire from spreading and reigniting.

Green River Highlands is located off of Coxe Road. The entrance is between Ameri-con concrete and the Green River Plantation.
