Anyone interested in running for mayor or town council in the towns of Columbus, Saluda and Tryon can file beginning on Monday.

Filing can be done at the Polk County Board of Elections Office in the Womack building in Columbus. The filing period will continue until noon on July 17. The elections office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Fridays.

This year&squo;s election will be held Nov. 3.

Open seats in the Town of Columbus will be those of Mayor Kathleen McMillian and council members Michael Gage, Ricky McCallister and Margaret Metcalf.

The Town of Tryon will have open the seats of Mayor Alan Peoples and the council seats of Dennis Durham and Jim Scott.

In the City of Saluda, open seats will include those of Mayor Rodney Gibson and council members Laura Fields and Johnnie Kinard.
