Celia Wilson Arledge

Celia was born August 13, 1936, to the late Claude Carter Wilson and Grace Gibbs Wilson, of Mill Spring. She was a retired teller and loan officer with Bank of America in Columbus, and also served as a bookkeeper for Kangaroo Caddie.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, terrific mother and grandmother and a wonderful friend.

Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Ralph Harley Arledge; one son, Dwayne Arledge and wife Kristi of Simpsonville, S.C.; one brother, Clifford Wilson of Maiden, N.C. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Chad and Kaitlyn Arledge of Simpsonville, S.C. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Carl, Cal and Charles.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 in the Coopers Gap Baptist Church, Mill Spring with Rev. Warren Elliott and Rev. Dean Elliott officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, July 1, 2009 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.
