Carolyn Rose Campbell Durham

She spent many years as a resident of the Lake Lanier community.

Mrs. Durham was the daughter of the late Eddie Boring and Nancy Elisabeth Campbell and was one of 13 children and was the last of her Campbell family of 15. She was the secretary, treasurer and founding member of Rock Springs Baptist Church on Dug Hill Road. She and her husband, the late &dquo;Mack&dquo; Durham, were original residents of Lake Lanier and lived at the Piedmont Boy Scout Camp for over 50 years. Also, she was a nurse, working in the Tryon area for many years.

Mrs. Durham is survived by two sons and their spouses, Dwight and Gay Durham and Larry and Wanda Durham, who also reside in the Lake Lanier area. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Holiday, Mack and Carolyn Durham, Scott Braddock, Rick Lowe, Tonya Durham, Angel Durham as well as seven great grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Rev. Randy Smith officiating.

Interment will be in Tryon City Cemetery, Tryon.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
