Market Place: Voyageur’s Antiques opens

Voyageur&squo;s Antiques opened its doors on June 1 with an array of goods representing a global collection. To celebrate the opening, a new selection of French and Italian antiques will be offered.

The shop is located at 22625 Asheville Hwy on the South Carolina/North Carolina State line adding to a nice selection of existing shops and restaurants in the same area.

As the name implies, the owners travel widely to select the most unique pieces for their shop from all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and South America, with the voyage ending in Landrum, Tryon, and Columbus.

The store is packed with treasures and an expansion is already being planned.

The shop will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. For more information call 864-457-3955.

The Asheville Regional Airport Authority (ARAA) cut a ribbon last Thursday celebrating the inaugural AirTran Airways flight between Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). This new service began June 11, and will offer three non-stop flights each week to and from Orlando on a 117-seat Boeing 717.

Hendersonville Mayor Greg Newman helped cut a ribbon last Thursday for a new Rite Aid store featuring the company&squo;s &dquo;Customer World&dquo; design, at 640 Spartanburg Highway. The store incorporates features of the company&squo;s &dquo;Customer World&dquo; design, Rite Aid&squo;s latest prototype design. The new design expands merchandise selections, improves store navigation with wide aisles and a bright open environment. The pharmacy department is easily seen and accessible from the entrance. The pharmacy waiting area is designed with a lowered ceiling, comfortable chairs, a TV, and connects to a pharmacy consultation room, providing a private setting for patient counseling by the pharmacist. The new Hendersonville store has more than 14,000 square feet.
