Fittingly, the second exhibit is about books. &dquo;Intimate Curiosities: SABA National Book Arts Show&dquo; is the first national juried show from the Southeast Association for Book Arts and is comprised of artist books, altered books, zines, broadsides and other art inspired by books or typography.

Twenty artists were selected by juror Bea Nettles, professor, photographer and book artist whose work is in many distinguished collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and International Museum of Photography at Eastman House. The show travels to Tryon from the McMaster Gallery at the University of South Carolina.

A third exhibit, &dquo;Wings of Change,&dquo; introduces figurative clay artist Kat McIver. Every piece in this new series incorporates wings, angelic and otherwise. A transpersonal psychologist, McIver explores her spiritual journey with ceramics and mixed media. She has exhibited coast to coast and abroad and is currently represented by the Bella Vista Gallery, Asheville.
