Loheac captured both the Irene Acker Trophy and the Gordon Wright Trophy on her amateur hunter, Bachelor Bob.&bsp; As champion amateur owner rider and high point hunter rider, Joann immediately called her former trainer in New York to thank him for finding such a great horse!

&dquo;Bob&dquo; has been a rewarding project for Joann because this grandson of Voltaire came in from Europe as a green four-year-old with few skills. As an amateur rider at her farm, Rolling Hills, Joann perfects his training with the help of Jeanne Smith of Clear View Farm.

Lily Hahn of Tryon, always a rider to reckon with, captured the Amateur Owner Hunter Classic in April aboard her hunter, Cezanne, at the Aiken Spring Classic Horse Show with a score of 92 for her final round. &bsp;

As a rider showing in the hunters and jumpers, Lily also had success in the Grand Prix ring, placing 5th riding her amazing mount, Lucky One. &bsp;

A crowd favorite and one of our more &dquo;experienced&dquo; jumper riders on the circuit, Vick Russell placed 3rd in the Aiken Spring Classic Grand Prix riding Helen Terranova&squo;s Creed, just ahead of Hahn. As Hahn&39;s trainer and an active board member of the Tryon Riding and Hunt Club, Vick is always an ambassador of Tryon&squo;s ever-growing equestrian activities.

Winning the Aiken Spring Classic circuit championship for junior jumpers, Sarah Ketcham, a 9th grader, does not let fence height back her down. When she heads in the ring riding her experienced horse Caesar, Sarah&squo;s mother, Linda, says she knows &dquo;all is well.&dquo;

&dquo;He just simply loves to jump and has helped this young talented rider move up to the higher jumps with ease giving her great confidence. It wasn&squo;t too many years ago when Sarah was riding in the pony ring,&dquo; says Holli Adams, Sarah&squo;s trainer at Still Creek Farm.

Horses and riders come from all over the southeast to participate in the TR&HC Annual Horse Show. Look for these local and many more great riders compete for top prizes, beautiful trophies and ribbons!
