Fifth graders in Polk County schools enjoyed learning about the farming industry as well as the unique learning opportunities the high school&squo;s farm project has to offer during Agriculture Awareness Day held Friday, May 8 at Polk County High School.

High school agriculture students led the fifth graders on tours of the school farm where they visited stations that included farm animals as well as modern and antique farm equipment.

The students also learned about horticulture and crops native to the area and state. Although stormy weather cut the day short, every fifth grader in the system was given a T-shirt sponsored by Farm Bureau of Polk County.
