Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Leon and Hazel Steinman Gauchat and wife of the late Dr. John T. Donovan Jr., who died in 1985. Before marriage, she worked as a dental hygienist. Mrs. Donovan was a lifetime member of the Junior League in Lockport, N.Y. She moved to Polk County in 1984.

Surviving are a son, John T. Donovan III of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Suzanne Donovan of Hershey, Penn., and Kathleen Donovan of Langhorne, Penn. Also surviving are eight grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
