Ralph Edward Johnson Sr.

Mr. Johnson was born in Spartanburg County on May 6, 1931, the son of the late Horace McKinley and Nettie Johnson. He was the husband of Betty Jean Williams Johnson.

He was a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church and had been a member of American Legion Post #45.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was retired from Union Camp.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Randy Johnson of Inman, Roger Johnson of Green Creek and Eddie Johnson of Inman; three borthers, J. Harold Johnson of Montgomery, N.Y., and Ray and Donnie Johnson of Inman; four sisters, Dorothy Hunnicutt, Kathleen Shields and Thelma Jolly, all of Inman, and Martha Bartch of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Rock Hill Baptist Church on Bishop Road, Inman at 3 p.m. Firday, April 24, conducted by Rev. Kenny McDowell. Interment with military rites will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner&squo;s Hospital, 950 Faris Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605-4277.
