He was a native of Polk County.

He was the son of the late Roy Deck and the late Ethel (Roddy) Deck.

Preceded in death by grandson Ty Aaron Herman and a brother Howard Deck.

Grover was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.&bsp; He attended Poors Ford Baptist Church. He was a U S Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Boy Scout leader in Polk County and retired T.V. repairman.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Towery Deck;

Two daughters, Daughter & her husband ‐ Vicki Keller and Rick of Spartanburg, S.C.

Daughter-Wendy Herman of Tryon.

Two grandsons, Justin Durham and Colby Herman

Henry Deck of Rutherfordton, N.C.

James Deck of Rutherfordton, N.C.

Graveside service was held at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery at 4 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, Rev. Tom Calton officiating. Interment was at New Hope United Methodist&bsp; Cemetery.
