Tryon officers Lindsey, Wright receive Lifesaving Award

Tryon Police Chief Jeff Arrowood presented the officers with the Lifesaving Award. The Tryon officers quickly followed the call for the fire and helped evacuate all of the residents in the 300 building of the condominiums. Chief Arrowood says he believes the men &dquo;went above and beyond&dquo; and provided life-saving efforts at the scene. Mayor Alan Peoples said, &dquo;It doesn&squo;t get any better than the people who work for us.&dquo; During the Tryon Town Council meeting last week, Jay Tirre, the owner of the condominium that caught on fire, thanked the firefighters and police officers for a quick response. He recognized the efforts of the firefighters from Tryon, Columbus, Landrum and Saluda. Tryon police officers Lindsey and Wright were also honored with the &dquo;Chief&squo;s Award&dquo; at the annual Tryon Fire Department Ladies Night March 18.
