She was the widow of Dyrell Marquis and the daughter of the late Henry and Marie Truluck Arnold.

Mrs. Marquis was retired from Spartanburg District 5 School System and Wellford Primary School. She was a teacher for 32 years and she was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by a son, Benjamin Marquis&bsp; of Florida; daughters, Lynn Manning of Inman, Kathy Marquis of Spartanburg, Mary Chambers of Campobello; sisters, Aurelia Smith of California, Alice Broome of Lyman, and Becky Cannon-Skipper of Columbia; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home.
