Unemployment up again in Carolinas

The unemployment rate in North Carolina rose slightly in March to 10.8 percent, up from 10.7 percent in February, according to the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. The North Carolina rate is well above the national average of 8.5 percent in March. The jobless rate is even higher in South Carolina, where it hit 11.4 percent in March, up from 10.9 percent in February.
