Landrum softball shuts out Chapman, continues 11-game win streak

The Lady Cardinals picked up their 11th consecutive win on Monday by beating Chapman 3-0.

Pitcher Jordan Farmer threw seven shutout innings, striking out nine batters. It was her tenth win of the season, seven of which have come by way of complete game shutout. She has struck out 104 batters in 71 innings of work, and has an ERA of 0.79.

Kansas Wofford led the offense with four hits on four at-bats. Catcher Nicole Burrell was 2-for-2, and Erica Doty added a double. The team is batting .319 overall.

After the game, Landrum coach Tucker Hamrick said, &dquo;We focused on staying disciplined at the plate, and that discipline helped us achieve 11 hits.&dquo;

The Lady Cardinals are now the fourth-ranked 1A team in the state.

Landrum (11-3) will look to extend its win streak tonight at home against Whitmire. Game time is 7 p.m.
