Ruth was a native of Duncan, the wife of the late Jack L. Green, Sr., formerly of Anderson, and daughter of the late Dr. J.C. Moore and Julia Inabinet Moore.

Ruth was a graduate of Limestone College where she was May Queen her senior year. While there she majored in education and then taught school for many years in Duncan. She was very appreciative of her wonderful life, students, caregivers, friends and family.

She was the beloved mother of Gail Green Gibbs of Landrum, Jack L. Green, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Julie Green Boylston of Myrtle Beach. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Cliff Green of Charlotte, NC, Jason Green of Myrtle Beach, Jennifer Green of New York, NY, and Jessica Boylston-Fagonde of New York, and four great-grandchildren, Harrison, Hannah, Madelyn and Spencer.

Visitation was held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the home. Graveside services were held Wednesday at Wood Memorial Park, Gap Creek Road, Duncan.
