Columbus Farm Festival to be held in October

&bsp;a festival of sorts in downtown Columbus. The first ever Columbus Farm Festival is planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on that date.

The event will feature the usual Tailgate Market on Courthouse Street, bluegrass music, crafts, farm tractors, delicious food for starters. The 4-H Livestock Club will hold a youth lamb show.

An Overmountain Men reenactment will occur on the Stearns Park lawn to help tell the story of the Overmountain Men&39;s march through North Carolina and Polk County in October 1780.

&uot;We are excited about this focus on our agricultural roots and supporting our local producers at the Tailgate Market,&uot; said Lynn Sprague, Polk County Ag Economic Director. &uot;A small hometown festival with county vendors and locally made crafts and food should make it a fun outing for everyone.&uot;
