Grammy winner Chapin &great arts events for St. Patricks weekend

Today Foothills Music Club invites you to join them at the Tryon Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. for a special concert including Judy Shultz performing Bach&squo;s Trio Sonata on the organ. The concert is free and open to the public. Then grab a quick bite to eat and fresh yourself with the high energy talent of Dean Trakus on the piano at Lilac Wine from 5-9 p.m. Tryon Fine Arts Center welcomes the three time Grammy award winning artist Tom Chapin for a special performance at 7:30 p.m. Chapin will be joined by Grammy nominated bassist Michael Mark sharing some of the original contemporary folk music that has earned him the title of &dquo;acoustic trendsetter.&dquo; Don&squo;t miss this amazing entertainer as he incorporates the talents of Tryon&squo;s own vocalist Andy Millard and cellist Chris Farrell into the show. Looking for some good old rock and roll to shake off the worries? Catch Weird Mojo. Featuring the high energy of Susie Kocher on vocals with guitar wizard Steve Whiteside and the rockin&squo; rhythm of Mikey Van Dusen and Tom Hearn, these fun loving band will wake up Columbus at Elmo&squo;s Too tonight and have Elmo&squo;s in Tryon jumping on Saturday with their wide range of popular rock and roll from Mustang Sally to Pink Floyd at 9 p.m. &bsp; Saturday Mystery novelist Leanna Sain will visit The Book Shelf from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Readers who enjoy the Twilight Series, or Diana Gabaldon&squo;s Outlander books will want to meet Leanna Sain and read her Gate to Nowhere series. Set in North Carolina, Emma Franklin sets off on a journey of discovery when she steps through a gate on the farm she has inherited and discovers she has traveled back in time to 1827. Leanna lives near Hendersonville at Miracle Hill Farm with her husband tending to her garden and painting portraits while raising two sons, a herd of Nubian goats, and laying hens.
