Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frederick I. and Katherine Tompkins Teal. She was originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and later moved to Florida. Mrs. Grubel worked with the Lake County, Ohio, board of health and had also served as past president of the Ohio Municipal Finance Officers Association and was chairman of the board of Cleveland Income Tax Agency. She had&bsp; served on the executive board of Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. Mrs. Grubel moved to Polk County in 1997 from Florida and was a member of the Tryon Presbyterian Church, Tryon.

Surviving is her husband, Ralph O. Grubel of the home;&bsp;&bsp; two step-daughters, Diana Burke of Ocala, Fla., and Wendy Sands of Amesbury, Mass. Also surviving are three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009,in the auditorium of Tryon Estates, Columbus, with Rev. Ralph Kuether officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Lakeville, N.Y.
