The history of Polk County is varied and there is something of interest for everyone, young and old. Even the early 1800&39;s coach, which was not displayed for the last 30 years, is now one of our featured exhibits.

Others include the station master&39;s office, a military section, antique farm tools and implements, a school display, a home setting, a medical display, a beauty parlor, many pictures from the past and a research area.

The historical museum moved items out of the Tryon Depot space in October after working to renovate the new space in the basement of the Feagan Building on Walker Street.

The Polk County Historical Association welcomes everyone to visit its new home on Tuesday. Admission is free. The entrance is at the rear of the building and the museum is on the lower level.
