A native of Spartanburg, S.C., he was a son of the late Marvin Clayton Terrell, Jr. and Dorothy Cowdery Terrell of Atlanta, Ga.

In addition to his mother, surviving are his brothers, Clayton Scott and wife Barbara of Boiling Springs, Karl Montaque Terrell and wife Diane of Atlanta, Jonathan Clayton Terrell of Chapel Hill, N.C.; sister, Erin Terrell Thompson of Tryon; stepmother, Cathy Terrell of Spartanburg; a niece; and four nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at Bethel United Methodist Church of Spartanburg.
