&ull; Carolyn and Don Cobb have volunteered for three years, Carolyn as cashier and window dresser and Don in the pricing department. A native of Hendersonville, Carolyn says she loves living in this area.

&ull; Leona and Dallas Seiler, transplants from Michigan, say they love working together. While Dallas prices and fixes merchandise, Leona works the cash register. In addition to six years of volunteer work at Second Chance, the Seilers volunteer their time at Hospice. A true volunteer success story, the Seller&squo;s shared altruistic outlook is apparently working: they have been married for 57 years.

&ull; Kathleen and Carl Foerster have been married for 52 years and volunteering for one. Along with pricing merchandise, Kathleen makes and donates wine bags to sell, and keeps the volunteers well fed and happy with her baked goods. Carl does a little bit of everything in the back of the store.

&ull; Liz and Bob Quattlebaum have been volunteers for three of the 35 years they&squo;ve been married. They have two sons and one very special grandchild.&bsp; Bob does electrical repair and Liz works the cash register two days a week.

&ull; Betty and Billy Williams ‐ celebrating 31 years of marriage ‐ now call Lake Lure home since moving from Florida. Since 2002, Betty has worked as a cashier and helped manage the store&squo;s jewelry, and Billy has been bagging purchases since &squo;07.

&ull; Connie and Marie Butler have been volunteering for eight years ‐ Marie working the cash resister while Connie bags. The Butlers are avid golfers.

&ull; Mimi and P.J. Darr have lived in the Tryon area for 15 years. The Darrs are fairly new volunteers who were recruited by another volunteer last year. Mimi organizes linens and P.J. ‐ a woodworker ‐ repairs distressed furniture.

&ull; Bernardine and Marshall Monroe relocated from Texas and New Jersey. Bernardine began volunteering when the store first opened at its present location in &squo;02, with Marshall following her lead in &squo;06. Bernie handles the greeting cards and works in the pricing department, and Marshall works with wall art and books.

&ull; Joyce and Dale Minkler retired and relocated from Ohio 22 years ago, and have been volunteering at the Thrift Store since the store&squo;s inception in 1995. Dale even helped build the current store&squo;s shelves. Joyce handles holiday and craft merchandise, and Dale manages the shoes.
