He was a native of Fletcher, a retired truck driver and son of the late Ed and Nada Watkins.

Surviving are two children; Ronald Watkins and Renay Boone of Mill Spring; brothers Richard Watkins of Fletcher and Arnold Watkins of Mill Spring; sisters Louise Smith and JoEllen Taylor of Mill Spring; and six grandchildren.

A celebration of the life of Leslie Watkins will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 at Crowe&squo;s Mortuary and Crematory in Rutherfordton.
