While many folks are still recovering from the rush of the holidays and the crunch on their pocket books, artists in the area are still getting out to bring you live local entertainment and keep your spirit light. Tonight Catch Beth Thomas at Lilac Wine on the piano at 7 p.m. &bsp; Friday If you haven&squo;t heard them yet, the bluegrass gospel of the Green River Boys is not to be missed. The Shaffer Grill in Saluda offers up a Friday night special serving of these fine musicians starting at 6 p.m. For more information call 828-749-1800 or visit www.greenriverboys.com. The thing about jamming the blues on Sundays at Elmo&squo;s Too is that sometimes musicians discover they have enough in common that they want to play more tunes together. Guitarist Steve Whiteside hosts the Open Mic at the Back Room on Wednesday nights in Flat Rock and plays with local band Weird Mojo. However, tonight he is slipping down to join Dog Fight Blues Band members Tom Hearn on bass and Mikey VanDusen on drums playing your classic rock favorites at Elmo&squo;s Too. If you feel like singing country and pop hits check out the new Karaoke at Elmo&squo;s. I found tunes from nearly every decade of the past 100 years in the song books and was surprised by the talent of some &dquo;drop in&dquo; voices that appeared there for dinner on their way through town. Friday & Saturday the mic will be open to sing along with your favorite hits. &bsp; Saturday Bonnie Joy Bardos presents Open Studio/Art House Saturdays at her house at 285 Greenville Street, Saluda beside the Saluda Inn, starting Saturday from 11 a.m. ‐ 3 p.m. You can also make an appointment, or drop in whenever the &dquo;Open Studio&dquo; art palette sign is hanging outside. You can also find her work in several Saluda businesses like: The Purple Onion, Saluda Grade, and Tosh&squo;s Whistlestop caf´ and also at Bravo Design and the Upstairs Artspace in Tryon.
