Ruth Threadgill

She was born March 25, 1918 in Hartford City, Ind. She was the daughter of the late James Vaughn and Geraldine Hilma Boyles Gettys and was married to the late Joseph B. Threadgill for over 70 years. She was a member of the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church and a member of the 1918 Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Carron and her husband Alan of Tryon, Terry Bantz and her husband Wallace McDaniel of Green Creek; two sons, Joe Threadgill and his wife Lynne of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Danny Threadgill and wife Shelley of Hayden Lake; a sister, Esther Whitlow of Lapel, Ind.; sister-in-law, Edna Ruth Gettys; brother-in-law, Bill Cushman; step-sister, Frances Brackin; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Petty Funeral Home, 124 North Trade Street, Landrum.

The body will be placed in the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church, Highway 108 Lynn, N.C. at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 for additional viewing. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Arthur Gibbs, will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
