Morgan was born in Campobello, on June 21, 1931, the son of the late Fate and Olene (Harris) Morgan. He was a Mason and a member of the Inman Masonic Lodge # 201. He was an Army Veteran and had retired from Spartanburg Steel after 30 years of service.

He is survived by a daughter, Wanda Morgan Fernandez of Columbia, S.C., a son Jeffrey Morgan and his wife Renae of Simpsonville, S.C., three sisters, Betty Settle of Spartanburg, Alma Jean Settle of Boiling Springs, S.C., Merle Lundy of Spartanburg, and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Jobie Morgan.

Graveside services were held Sunday at North Pacolet Baptist Church Cemetery in Campobello conducted by Rev. Steve Morgan and a friend Sherman Owens.
