Artistry Above hair salon is now open in Columbus. The salon is located at 915 W. Mills Street in the Columbus Medical Park Center.

After graduating from Isothermal&squo;s cosmetology school in 1993, owner Mia Kuettel opened a shop in Mooresville, N.C. She sold the business after giving birth to her second child, but has continued styling hair and studying new hair design techniques in larger cities like Miami, New York and Washington, D.C.

Kuettel features Redken, Provana, and Baine Terre products and specializes in coloring and color correction. She offers styling services for ladies and men. The shop is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Call 828-817-4820 for more information.

Sandi Franks, medical secretary at Blue Ridge Laser Eye Associates in Columbus, N.C., recently celebrated 10 years of employment&bsp; with the company. Dr. Thomas Perraut and the office staff honored her with an office party.

Business closings

The Willow Creek Conservatory is now closed. The 47-acre event location&bsp; was located at 141 Old Ballenger Mill Road in Landrum. The location was used for weddings and other special events.
