These fellows will offer up several hours of your favorite country, beach and rock hits. Up in Saluda slip away quietly with your sweetie to the Purple Onion and enjoy the elegant piano work of Fred Whiskin playing everything from Chicago Blues to Brubeck from 7 ‐ 9 p.m. Saturday Got that hard to buy for relative in town for the weekend? Why not take them on a local art adventure and learn a bit more about what interests them as you discuss the wide variety of work ranging from jewelry and pottery to paintings and sculpture in the local galleries? Start the day by venturing to Columbus at 11 a.m. for the kiln opening of the work of Claude Graves at Little Mountain Pottery located at 6372 Peniel Road. This firing will contain a special series of bowls, pitchers and mugs as well as sculptural vessels. In addition he will be featuring new red ware in the showroom. From there, drop on down the freeway to Landrum to catch Red Clover Gallery&squo;s Second Annual Winter Art Expo featuring seasonal treats and holiday music from 11 a.m. ‐ 5 p.m. They are reprising this group show of artists after a successful exhibit last year and will be showcasing the work of Lisa Clark, Barbara Tilly, Linda Seagroves, Scott Allen, Elaine Pearson, Kina Baddorf, Kris Neeley and more. Discover the colorful eclectic variety of work from locally hand blown glass beads to the painted tile and steel tables of Kathleen Carson and Bill Crowell at Simply Irresistible Gallery. Finish off your day out up in Saluda by sitting down to dinner with the lively blues of Shane Pruitt at the Purple Onion.
