Born in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Larry Dean Massey and Brenda Hicks Massey.

Massey was a bookkeeper and cashier at Bi-Lo.

Surviving are one brother, Scott Massey of Campobello, and one niece, Shelby Kaye Massey of Centreville, Ala.

Private services will be held at a later date.
