Tony Grogan

Born in Ireland, he was the son of the late Denis Owen and Roma Grogan. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
Grogan moved to Tryon in 1996, having come from Taylors, S.C. He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and was also a member of the Polk County Gun Club.
Surviving include his wife, Pat Nichols Grogan; one son, Shaun Grogan of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Kim Swayngham of Landrum; and one sister, Carmel Boston of England. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Amber, Taylor, Shaun Denis, Hunter, Parker, and Tyler.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon with Dr. Ernest Carswell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday.
Military rites will be held by the Polk County Memorial Burial Squad.
