He was co-owner of C&L Paint and Drywall and of the Baptist faith. He was a son of the late Levi and Bessie Campbell Lockhart.

He is survived by two daughters, Cami Dotson of Mill Spring and Karla Hunter of Rutherfordton; three grandchildren; four sisters, Lucille Fowler of Baltimore, Md., Kathleen Penfield of Greer, S.C., LeeAnn Pate of Hendersonville and Violet Searcy of Mill Spring; and two brothers, Burley Lockhart of Inman and Steve Lockhart of Mill Spring.

Arrangements are being handled by McMahan&squo;s Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Funeral service will be at Green Hill Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, with Rev. Terry Brooks and Rev. Brian Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
